Wade Lahrman

As we ease into this new year and new decade and the world is spinning and we are all trying to make sense of it -- or at least I know am -- as we go into the next month and the reality of it all, losing ourselves in the images made by our featured photographer, Wade Lahrman, is a great escape to being present in gorgeous sunsets, road trips to beautiful places, hiking to natural treasures, wading in wondrous waters and connecting with the moon, mother earth, and friends. Wade transports us to a reality not everyone gets to experience daily and he does so with a sense of longing and wonder that is visual eye candy and whispers in your ear.....let's go.

BIO- Wade Lahrman, born in 1997 and raised in Sag Harbor, NY, received his first camera at the age of eight years old. He knew, even at this early age, that photography was his passion.  Wade graduated from SUNY Cobleskill in 2017 with a degree in Graphic Design and Technology and has exhibited at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, New York (Southampton) and Guild Hall in East Hampton, New York, both in 2015. In addition to photography, Lahrman's interests include filmmaking, aerial photography, drawing, skating, and surfing. Wade currently resides on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii where he works as a farmer at a community of treehouses and organic gardens and chases the big waves daily.

ARTIST STATEMENT- I seek to communicate a sense of freedom through my photography, where atmosphere and silhouette come together to slow time and deepen the experience of looking for the viewer.  Conveying an almost dreamlike deliverance, I wish to inspire a release from current understandings and to activate new worlds of knowing. I pursue my aesthetic through travel and a wanderlust for moments suspended in light.
